... and all of this maccabre feeling lead me to looking at the workings of Kathe Kollwitz, of whom i am going follow with some similarly staged graphite/pencil drawings and black/white paintings. Focusing on contrasts between light and dark, and methaphorical meanings in the works.
Kollwitz is by far the best and most under rated of the classic historical artists. only DaVinci and Dali come anywhere close. thank you for featuring her work.
